A recent commission appearing in the upcoming issue of Die Weltwoche Stil based in Switzerland.
I did a similar scene for them last year, and I was very excited when they asked me to do another. The illustration shows the alpine village, Zermatt, and the famous Matterhorn mountain. It was such a pleasure to do this, because I think cottages and trees are some of my favorite things to paint!
There has been a serious lack of posts here lately, but hopefully that will change soon. I've been so busy with work and wedding planning that I hardly have time to breathe!

cottages make me feel so cozy. it's beautiful.
Love your cottages and trees! Two of the things I find extra challenging to draw. If the wedding you're preparing for is your own, congratulations! Lucky guy.
I love this! Such a snowy, cozy scene--it's beautiful.
Beautiful! Love the snowy cabins, very evocative :o)
I LOVE this illustration! I would really like to take a holiday to that village... we just haven't had enough snow this year in Michigan.
So beautiful. I'm not sure what it says about me, but the houses remind me of chocolate cookies dusted in sugar.
Becca this is stunning!

This is so beautiful!
That's gorgeous. My college roommate's family is from Switzerland so she had a huge poster of Zermatt which hung on our dining room wall -- what a view! I hope you will be selling prints of this (or something very similar?).
